About Art Van Go

The Team
For those of you who perhaps don't know us too well let us introduce ourselves. Art Van Go is primarily just the two of us - myself (Viv Arthur) and my 'other half' Kevin Mead. At many of the big events we take part in - for instance the Knitting & Stitching Show - you will also see the inimitable Ruth Issett fronting us up and creating exciting pieces of work as demonstrations.

Ruth is a very good friend and an irreplaceable part of the team, but in fact is a totally independent textile artist. We only say this as it's apparent that many people think that I am Ruth, and that Ruth is me. To save confusion it's easier to say that I am the one with the van, and Ruth is the one with the talent and now three fabulous books to her name!

Somehow, over the years we have given the impression of being a big company. We often overhear someone saying to a fellow artist that "...one of these ART VAN GO vans comes to our group". Well that's me and the one van racing around the country. We do get enormous support of all kinds from family and friends which enables us to achieve so much. Many, many thanks go to them.

There is one other vital member of the team. Ann Flavin (our Ann) has been with us through thick & thin for six years. Many of you will have spoken to her on the phone, and she copes with all the mail order. We regularly hear the complaint that "the parcel was wrapped so well it took ages to get into it" as well as getting many complimentary notes or calls of thanks for getting the order out so quickly. All of that is down to our Ann! She also handles loads of the behind-the-scenes work, as well as being more 'up front' in The Studios.
