Stanley Andrews RSMA, a highly respected local artist, lived in Welwyn but his watercolour landscapes have been exhibited in galleries all over the country and are held in collections nationally and internationally. More...
Running alongside Stanley Andrew's retrospective exhibition we are delighted to have a display of sculptural willow lanterns produced by students of the Supported Studies Department of North Herts College.
Organic Illuminations
6th July - 7th August 2010
This is a collaborative project of artists Kimberley Bevan and Marion Hewitt working with the students, funded through the University of Hertfordshire and supported by The Digswell Arts Trust.
All work is for sale and each one would make a unique sculptural statement in any outdoor setting. The students would be thrilled to sell their work knowing it was to be enjoyed for years to come. Each willow sculpture comes with a solar light and costs £9.99.
To allow for preparations for the Festival of Quilts at the NEC (August 19th - 22nd), the gallery will be closed from Mon 9th to Tues 18th August.
The shop will remain open during normal trading hours.
We have lots of ideas for 21st Birthday Celebrations. Unfortunately many of these have been put on hold for a while due to a family bereavement. We hope to be able to present them later this year. Looking to the future, the work on our most recent and ambitious project - the Art Van Go Garden - is nearing completion!

In this special year we are inviting everyone who has taken part in an Art Van Go workshop to submit work to this very special exhibition
'Made at Art Van Go'.
The exhibition will be a celebration of your talents and skills; the dedication and enthusiam of the tutors; and the many years of Art Van Go workshops.

Submission Dates: 19th, 20th, 21st, 24th & 25th Aug 2010
We will be delighted to accept work from anyone - the only criterion is
that you should have attended an Art Van Go workshop
and the work submitted should reflect this.

To continue the celebrations in style, we will be holding a Frances Pickering exhibition from Wed 13th Oct - Sat 6th Nov 2010.
The exhibition will feature the original page artwork from Frances' book Page After Page. This will be a rare opportunity to purchase one of these unique and beautifully framed artworks.
A donation from the sale of each page will be given to Sight Savers International and the Alzheimer's Association.
We will be finishing the year in a blaze of colour from Ruth Issett with an exhibition running from Sat 13th November which will blend 'seamlessly' into our Winter Exhibition in December.
